The Topcon AT-B4 is the 24x model in Topcon’s AT-B series of automatic optical levels, an everyday instrument for grade checking, elevation transfer and level runs on construction, engineering and survey sites. Its compensator — a magnetically damped pendulum hung on four high-tensile suspension wires — self-levels the line of sight to 0.5 arcsec and settles quickly, holding a standard deviation of ±2.0 mm over a 1 km double-run.
