The Trimble R8 Model 3 is an integrated GNSS surveying receiver designed to work as either an RTK base station or rover. Built on the 220-channel Trimble Maxwell 6 chip, it tracks GPS L1C/A, L2C, L2E and L5 alongside GLONASS and SBAS, while Trimble R-Track with Signal Prediction keeps precision positioning alive through brief correction dropouts under canopy or near structures. Trimble rates RTK performance at 8 mm + 1 ppm horizontal and 15 mm + 1 ppm vertical on baselines under 30 km.

A 450 MHz transmit/receive UHF radio is built into the sealed IP67 housing, so the same unit can broadcast corrections as a base or ride the pole as a rover, with Bluetooth and serial ports for controller connections.
