ProSoft Technology PLX31-MBTCP-MBS4 Modbus TCP/IP to Modbus Serial Gateway (4-Port)

The ProSoft Technology PLX31-MBTCP-MBS4 is a four-port Modbus TCP/IP-to-Modbus Serial communication gateway from the PLX31 series, providing high-speed bi-directional data transfer between Modbus TCP/IP-enabled PACs and Modbus Serial devices running in RTU or ASCII mode. It operates simultaneously as a Modbus master/slave on the serial side and as a Modbus TCP/IP client/server on the Ethernet side, bridging equipment such as HMIs, SCADA systems, power monitors and flow computers. Each of its four independent serial ports is software-selectable for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485, together supporting connection of up to 400 Modbus Serial devices from a single gateway.

Connectivity is provided through one 10/100 Mbit RJ45 Ethernet port supporting up to 20 simultaneous client and server connections, with up to 10,000 16-bit registers for data exchange, up to 160 configurable client commands, and up to 100 commands per serial master port. The serial ports carry 2500 Vrms signal isolation (UL 1577) and the Ethernet port 1500 Vrms, and an onboard SD card slot (card optional) stores configuration files for disaster recovery. The unit runs on 24 VDC nominal (10 to 36 VDC), operates from -25 to 70 °C, and mounts on DIN rail in an IP20 / NEMA-UL Open Type enclosure. It carries UL, CB, ATEX, CE/RoHS, Korean KC, EAC and REACH approvals.
