The Noyes OFL 250B is a handheld fault-locating OTDR from AFL’s NOYES test and inspection line, and the -50U configuration offered here is the 1550 nm single-mode version. It rolls four instruments into one 0.8 kg tool — an OTDR, an optical power meter, a 1550 nm laser source, and a 650 nm visual fault locator — so a single technician can track down breaks, high-loss splices, tight bends, and contaminated connectors in access, metro, and FTTx plant. AFL’s datasheet rates it at 26 dB of dynamic range with a 1.5 m event dead zone, range settings from 250 m out to 256 km, and internal storage for more than 1,000 traces in standard .SOR format that transfer to a PC over USB.
