Metrix's ST5484E seismic velocity transmitter condenses a complete vibration-monitoring channel into a single sensor body: a piezoelectric accelerometer, integrator, RMS detector, and 4-20 mA conditioner working together to output a signal proportional to casing vibration velocity. Threaded straight onto a bearing housing or machine case, it feeds standard process instrumentation such as PLCs, DCSs, and SCADA systems for trending and alarming, and suits rotating and reciprocating machinery with rolling-element bearings running 120 to 6,000 rpm.

This unit is part number ST5484E-132-1312-00: a 3.0 in/sec (76.2 mm/s) peak full-scale range in the optional 316 stainless steel housing, mounted on a 1/2-20 UNF stud, certified NRTL Class I, Division 2, Groups A-D (non-incendive), with a 2-wire terminal block connection for the 4-20 mA loop. The measurement band uses the standard 2 Hz high-pass and 1,500 Hz low-pass filters, and power is 11-30 VDC drawn from the current loop itself, with polarity-independent wiring courtesy of Metrix IPT technology.
