The Fisher FIELDVUE DVC6200 is a communicating, microprocessor-based digital valve controller — an electro-pneumatic valve positioner that mounts on a control-valve actuator and converts a 4-20 mA input signal into a regulated pneumatic output pressure to drive the valve to the commanded position. It uses a linkage-less, non-contact travel-feedback sensor and communicates over HART (HART 5 or HART 7) on the same two-wire loop, exposing valve diagnostics and process data to ValveLink software, AMS Suite, or a handheld field communicator. Supply pressure is rated to a maximum of 10.0 bar (145 psig), the electronics housing carries a Type 4X / IP66 rating, and the instrument operates from -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F). It is designed to directly replace standard pneumatic and electro-pneumatic valve-mounted positioners in throttling and on/off service.
As listed, this is a HW2 (hardware revision 2) unit at the AD — Advanced Diagnostics — instrument level, which adds Valve Signature diagnostics, step-response and drive-signal testing, dynamic error band, and travel/pressure fallback on top of the base HART-communicating functions. It is configured for point-to-point (PT-PT) 4-20 mA HART input and fitted with the Relay A double-acting pneumatic relay for use with double-acting actuators.
