EXFO’s MaxTester 715B puts last-mile OTDR testing in a rugged, tablet-style handheld: characterizing point-to-point FTTx links, hunting faults on access spans, and covering the short fibers common to central-office, FTTA and DAS jobs. As an iOLM-listed unit it runs EXFO’s intelligent Optical Link Mapper application, which builds an element-by-element map of the link from multi-pulse, multi-wavelength acquisitions, locating and identifying faults automatically.

This unit is the MAX-715B-M1-EI-RF configuration: M1 singlemode optics (1310/1550 nm, 9/125 um, 30/28 dB dynamic range, 1 m event dead zone) with a UPC (EI) universal interface, plus the factory RF option — built-in WiFi and Bluetooth for wireless FIP inspection scopes, Bluetooth file sharing and uploading results straight from the field. It also includes the plug-in MAX-2X-VFL module, adding a power meter and visual fault locator to the OTDR. A 12-hour lithium-polymer battery, 7 in outdoor-enhanced touchscreen and two USB 2.0 ports complete the instrument at 1.29 kg.
