The Emerson DeltaV KJ3223X1-BK1 is a 16-channel analog input (AI) card for the DeltaV S-series distributed control system. It accepts 4-20 mA signals from 2-wire field transmitters and passes their HART digital data through to Emerson AMS Device Manager, digitizing each channel with a 16-bit A/D converter to an accuracy of 0.2% of span over the operating temperature range. The card covers a full signal range of 2-22 mA with over-range checking, optically isolates every channel from the system (factory tested to 1000 V DC), supplies transmitter loop power (13.5 V minimum at 20 mA, current-limited at 29 mA), and scans each enabled channel for HART variables and status every 600-800 ms. It is used in process-automation DCS installations across oil and gas, chemical, power and refining to bring transmitter measurements and device diagnostics into DeltaV control, and carries hazardous-area approvals for Class I Division 2 Groups A-D and Class I Zone 2 (ATEX/UKEX Ex ec IIC Gc).
