Key specifications
The Allen-Bradley 1756-IF16 is a 16-channel analog input module for the ControlLogix 1756 I/O platform, accepting both voltage and current field signals. It provides 16 single-ended inputs, or 8 differential / 4 high-speed differential inputs when channels are wired in pairs, and supports voltage ranges of ±10V, 0–10V and 0–5V plus a 0–20 mA current range. A sigma-delta A/D converter delivers up to 16-bit resolution (15 bits plus sign on the bipolar ±10V range), with calibrated accuracy better than 0.05% of range on voltage inputs and 0.15% of range on current inputs; channel data is returned to the controller in IEEE 32-bit floating-point or integer format. Inputs are isolated from the backplane to 250V continuous (reinforced insulation), the module operates from 0 to 60°C, and it draws 2.33 W from the chassis. It is used across process and machine control to read 4–20 mA transmitters, sensors, and voltage-output field devices in a ControlLogix 1756 chassis.
This is a Series A hardware revision. ControlLogix analog modules occupy a single I/O slot and land field wiring through a removable terminal block — a 1756-TBCH (spring-clamp) or 1756-TBS6H (screw-clamp) RTB — which Rockwell does not include with the module as standard and which is required to wire the unit; confirm from the listing photographs whether one is supplied.
