The Emerson RM100-EM-8TX (DeltaV model VE6049M01) is an 8-port copper expansion module for the original-generation DeltaV Smart Switch family, installing into one of the two expansion bays on a VE6048-series base switch to add eight additional 10/100Base-TX (Fast Ethernet) ports. Each port auto-negotiates speed and duplex over standard twisted-pair copper cabling up to 100 m in length. The module draws 2 W (7 BTU/h) through the switch backplane, is hot-swappable, and is housed in a 138 × 90 × 42 mm, IP20-rated enclosure weighing 0.21 kg. It is used within a DeltaV Area Control Network (ACN) or DeltaV 2.5 network to extend port count on a managed switch that automatically reports network alerts and diagnostics to DeltaV workstations through the Network Device Command Center.
