The Cisco Catalyst C9300-48T-A is a fixed-configuration access-layer switch from Cisco's Catalyst 9300 series, the company's current flagship stackable enterprise switching platform running IOS XE. It provides 48 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports (RJ-45) for data-only connectivity – no integrated Power over Ethernet – plus an empty modular uplink bay that accepts a separately-ordered network module for 1G, 10G, or 40G uplinks. The switch delivers 256 Gbps of switching capacity and a forwarding rate of 190.47 Mpps (64-byte packets), backed by 8 GB of DRAM, 16 GB of flash, and a 32,000-entry MAC address table. Up to eight units can be joined into a single logical switch using Cisco's StackWise-480 technology, adding 480 Gbps of dedicated stacking bandwidth for a stacked switching capacity of 736 Gbps. It is rated for –5°C to +45°C operation and is built for wiring-closet and campus access-layer deployments that need high copper port density with stacking resiliency.

In Cisco's model naming, "48T" identifies the 48-port, data-only (non-PoE) copper variant of the Catalyst 9300 fixed-uplink chassis, and the "-A" suffix designates the Network Advantage software license – the higher of Cisco's two perpetual license tiers. Network Advantage includes everything in the base Network Essentials tier (Layer 2 switching, routed access with OSPF/EIGRP stub, PBR, VRRP, 802.1X) plus full dynamic routing (BGP, unrestricted OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, HSRP), network segmentation (VRF, VXLAN, TrustSec, MPLS), and MACsec-256 encryption.
