The Allen-Bradley 1769-OW16 is a 16-point relay contact output module in the 1769 Compact I/O family, used as local or expansion I/O on CompactLogix control systems. The 16 normally-open outputs are arranged in two electrically isolated groups of eight, each capable of switching 5–265 Vac or 5–125 Vdc field loads at up to 2.5 A per point, 10 A per common, and 20 A total per module, with 0 mA off-state leakage and a 10 ms on/off response time. Because the relay contacts are voltage-type agnostic, the module is commonly used to switch mixed AC/DC loads such as solenoids, contactors, pilot lights, and small motor starters from a single output group. The module draws 205 mA at 5.1 Vdc (180 mA at 24 Vdc) from the backplane, dissipates up to 4.75 W, and is rated for 0–60°C operation with 1836 Vac (1s) / 2596 Vdc isolation.

The OW16 designation identifies the electromechanical relay output variant within the 1769 output module line, distinguishing it from the solid-state 1769-OA16 (AC triac) and 1769-OB16/OV16 (DC transistor) modules; the relay contacts let a single module handle both AC and DC loads on the same base unit. The /A suffix on this unit denotes the Series A hardware revision. The module mounts on DIN rail or panel, connects via a plug-in removable terminal block (22–14 AWG solid or 22–16 AWG stranded wire), and provides individual status LEDs for each output point.
