Freight, packing, and why heavy gear costs what it costs
Shipping cost on used industrial hardware surprises people, and the reason is almost always the same: carriers charge for space as well as weight.
Dimensional weight
A large, light package can cost more than a small, heavy one, because it occupies truck space either way. Carriers price the greater of actual weight and "dimensional" weight. A hollow chassis in a big protective box is the classic case.
Why we pack the way we do
Industrial equipment does not forgive a thin box. The cost of shipping includes the materials and the work of packing something properly so that it arrives in the condition it left in — which is the entire point of buying tested equipment in the first place.
Freight
Chassis switches, drives, UPS units and total stations go on protected freight rather than parcel. We crate them properly and coordinate delivery, because a pallet arriving unannounced at a loading bay that is closed helps nobody.
International
We ship to 30+ countries. Duties and import taxes are billed by your local customs authority, not by us. We are happy to advise on documentation before you order rather than after it is stuck somewhere.
