What our condition grades actually mean
Every listing we publish carries a condition grade. They are not marketing words — each one means something specific about what arrives in the box.
New
Unused and in its original packaging. On surplus equipment this often means factory-sealed stock that was over-ordered for a project that changed, not something fresh off a production line. It is genuinely unused either way.
Refurbished
Professionally restored and function-tested. Cosmetic wear is possible; function is not in question.
Used · tested
Pre-owned equipment that we have powered up and put through its functions on the bench. Cosmetic condition is noted honestly, and you see photographs of the actual unit rather than a stock render standing in for it.
For parts
Sold as-is, not working. We label this clearly and price it accordingly. It is not covered by the 30-day warranty, and we say so on the listing rather than in the small print.
Why the distinction matters
Most of what we sell is a single physical unit — not a line in a warehouse of identical stock. The grade tells you what that specific unit is, which is why we would rather be plain about a scuff than surprise you with one.
